This 3-axle skeletal container chassis is integrally welded from Q345B high tensile manganese steel. Without redundant deck plates, it achieves lower tare weight to carry more cargo within axle load limits and cut fuel consumption per kilometer. Reinforcement is applied on high-stress zones of the frame. Fitted with heavy-duty ISO twist locks, it firmly secures containers and performs reliably on rough unpaved roads in Africa. The simplified structure reduces potential failure points. Routine maintenance only involves inspections on twist locks, bolts and brake systems, keeping maintenance expenses low. One chassis can handle one 40ft container or twin 20ft containers flexibly for port and inland haulage. Sandblasting plus multi-layer anti-corrosion coating protects the trailer against dust and humid climate to extend service life.
FAQ
Q: Can this skeletal chassis carry two 20GP containers at the same time?
A: Yes. It is equipped with 8 sets of manual ISO twist locks. The lock positions match corner castings for dual 20ft containers. It supports 1×40GP or 2×20GP loading modes. Operators only need to switch twist locks to change container configurations.
Q: What reinforced designs are available for poor road conditions in Africa?
A: Reinforced thickened plates are added on high-load areas of main beam. Heavy-duty mechanical leaf spring suspension is adopted. The whole frame is sandblasted and coated with multi-layer paint to resist rain and sand erosion. Brand axles are equipped with good impact resistance to reduce axle damage risk on bumpy roads.
Q: Are kingpin and landing gear standard or optional parts?
A: 2-inch JOST bolt-in kingpin and JOST two-speed landing gear are standard. Domestic equivalent parts can be substituted to meet limited budgets. Brand selection can be confirmed before production.
Q: Does the chassis come with ABS brake system as standard?
A: Dual-line air brake system is standard. ABS is optional upgrade. If local regulations require ABS, inform us at order stage and we will install it with WABCO valves.
Q: What is the lead time and export packing method?
A: Normal production lead time is 25–35 days. The trailer will be coated with protective paint and shipped bare with reinforced lashing. Containerized packing inside frame box is also available to suit different port handling.
